Overview

High-frequency jet ventilation (HFJV) refers to HFV delivered using a jet of gas. It is initiated by inserting into the lumen of the endotracheal tube a small cannula. The key advantage of HFJV is minimized lung trauma through ultra-low tidal volume ventilation at optimal lung volume, minimizing also the level of required supplemental oxygen.
