Whenever research is mentioned, you think of tables, charts, figures and our most favourite - the P-value! But do you ever feel like your research gets stuck at the "what"? Numbers tell a story, but they can't capture the full picture. They don't reveal the lived experiences, motivations, and rich tapestry of human stories that shape health and healthcare. This one-hour introductory lecture will introduce you to the world of qualitative research, a method that unlocks the "why" and "how" behind health phenomena.
1. Participants will be able to distinguish between core characteristics of quantitative and qualitative research approaches.
2. Participants will gain the ability to recognize different types of qualitative data collection methods (e.g., interviews, focus groups).
