This course is designed to empower healthcare professionals with the principles of Emotional Intelligence (EI) based on Daniel Goleman's framework. Participants will learn how to apply EI strategies to enhance leadership skills, improve communication, and foster a collaborative work environment in healthcare settings. The session will focus on Goleman’s five components of EI and how these can be used to develop more effective leadership styles that promote team cohesion and patient care.
1. Recognize Daniel Golemans five components of Emotional Intelligence (Self-awareness, Self-regulation, Motivation, Empathy, Social Skills).
2. Explain Golemans Six Leadership Styles (Coercive, Authoritative, Affiliative, Democratic, Pacesetting, Coaching) in healthcare settings.
3. Discuss how to develop leadership effectiveness through the application of emotional intelligence to enhance communication and improve team performance.
4. Apply emotional intelligence strategies to foster a supportive and empathetic work environment
5. Discuss how to develop personal emotional intelligence to better handle stress, challenges, and conflicts.
This is a pre-recorded course, with each topic lasting approximately 10-15 minutes. There is a pre- and post-test to measure learner performance.
